All syrah from 50-year-old vines, aged 2 years in large cask, Maison Rouge is a somewhat darker, more brooding wine. Cassis and candied cherry scents combine with hints of chocolate, flint, and smokiness. Lots of energy here, with a tannic push that makes this a wine for laying away for 5-plus years.
